Every day birds are euthanized in this country. Few people understand their special needs and because of this so many die. They are as intelligent as chimpanzees and are suffering in our world. PLEASE consider helping them.

We need more volunteers to help with incoming birds. We are currently at nearly full capacity. We require at least 3 volunteers to be ready to take in a specific bird before we can put them in our care. If one volunteer no longer will care for the bird we need others to be ready to do so. This is for the safety of the bird.

This page lists birds that:

  • Have been requested to be picked up by their owner -- Relinquishment
  • Are currently in a foster home and ready for adoption -- Up for Adoption
  • Need temporary or permanent homes -- Fostering or Adoption
  • Emergency status birds -- birds in short term fostering that need a home FAST -- DIRE NEED BIRDS.

When  we receive a request for relinquishment we post this on Twitter. You can see our Twitter posts in the Relinquishment section. Twitter will always be the first place that we post this information because it is the fastest way to publish it. We also add this information to this page as quickly as we can.

The Up for Adoption section includes birds that are socially ready to be rehomed (as far as can be determined).

The Fostering or Adoption section includes birds with issues such as screaming, biting or antisocial behavior. These birds need training and special care. Depending on the knowledge of the caretaker, they could be adopted or fostered. We do not place special needs birds with those who do not have special knowledge of the needs of birds.

DIRE NEED BIRDS are birds in our care that need to be moved to fostering AT ONCE. These birds are in a temporary place and need immediate attention.
