Parrot and Cockatoo
FACT AND FICTION
More truth than fiction

Too little has been written about our companions, who they are and where they came from. These fanciful stories tell a little about a history and a culture that stretches back 83 million years to Ganduana, the original continent on Earth.

Parrots and Cockatoos are more than meets the human eye. Journey with us in these fanciful but well-researched tales.

TALES OF FICTION BASED ON WHAT WE KNOW:

Understanding Aliens. This story is one human's discovery of a life unlike ours.

Does She Dream?  What would it be like to live as a parrot in the wild? One man finds out.

Fallen Angel. Based on a true story of one beloved companion who lost the man she loved.

Out of the Blue. A true story that shows that parrots never come "Out of the Blue."

A Doll's Eyes  A girl was abandoned to a room alone for nearly seven years. Her story closely mirrors the suffering of parrots in captivity.

Education is the key to unlock the door of happiness.

With parrots and cockatoos there is much to learn. They are not “pets” because they are wild animals. They have only recently been bred in captivity and there are no “breeds” of large parrots and cockatoos, only species.
There is a great deal to learn. The following books are recommended reading for anyone who wishes to be a companion to one of these special creatures. Study is not optional. It can mean the difference between sadness or death and a happy, sane companion. Please don’t wait until problems develop before you undertake study.

Parrot activity enrichment and foraging are critical to the mental and physical health of a bird. Please download the freely available PARROT ENRICHMENT AND ACTIVITY BOOK. Worth its weight in gold this book has been made available by the author for free. Don't let that fool you. This reference should be on every caretaker's must have list!

Many of these books are available at AMAZON. Please CLICK HERE to see the selection available. A portion of your purchase goes to us to help special needs parrots.

The day must come when NO ONE is allowed to own a parrot or cockatoo just because they "are rare, pretty and talk."
