This is our Babalu update. According to all the tests that he has had Babalu comes back with a perfect bill of health. Obviously, this is not the case. Something is going on with his cloaca that the tests cannot determine. Since his solids tend to lock up in the tract, his health is in danger. At the moment we are using massage and increased fluid intake to lessen the problem. Our next step is to use a combination of items prescribed by Dr. Rosen at Mission Animal and Bird Hospital to flesh out his G.I. tract area. The next step after this will probably be fluoroscopy and then, if necessary, endoscopy.
Currently, without the massage and fluid therapy the strain on his cloaca is severe. If it should cause a prolapse then his days are numbered. Of course, other internal issues could do the same.
